Turning Stone Resort Casino Expands
A multi-year initiative to roughly increase the size of the 700-room Turning Stone Resort Casino facility has been announced by the Oneida Indian Nation in the U.S. state of New York.
The federally recognized tribe issued a formal press release explaining that the expansion project plan has begun. They anticipate that the construction to expand the 29-year-old building would start in 2023. To go along with these upgrades, the Oneida Indian Nation announced that it also plans to build a brand-new hotel on-site with 250 rooms and debut a variety of innovative “dining options, outdoor spaces, and extra amenities.”
Variety of Entertainment
The Turning Stone Resort Casino, which opened in July 1993, has four hotels, more than a dozen restaurants, a 5,000-seat events center, and a 125,000 square foot casino with more than 2,000 slot machines and 90 gaming tables. The Oneida County property also boasts four nightclubs, a 4,500 square foot boutique shopping mall, a gym, tennis, and racquetball courts, three pools, and five golf courses.
The New Layout
The Oneida Indian Nation has stated that the upcoming project to “nearly double the existing convention and meeting space” at its Turning Stone Resort Casino property is expected to result in “hundreds of new permanent jobs.” The Oneida Indian Nation is also responsible through its Oneida Nation Enterprises concern for northern New York’s Yellow Brick Road Casino and Point Place Casino venues. The tribe also claimed that it has already chosen Syracuse-based Hayner Hoyt to be its general contractor and that it plans to invest “millions of dollars” in the initiative.
A Positive Reach
Ray Halbritter, Chief Executive Officer for Oneida Nation Enterprises, sent out a press release pronouncing that the expansion project is to furthermore ‘support the continued growth of the Oneida Indian Nation’s workforce’ and ensure the gambling-friendly venue remains ‘one of the top event and tourism destinations in New York for decades to come.’ After spending more than $1 billion in the region over the course of 30 years, the experienced professional continued by calling the plan the tribe’s “largest reinvestment in two decades.”

Ray Halbritter continues to say…
“We are experiencing record demand for hosting conferences and other events at Turning Stone Resort Casino that far outpaces our current hotel and convention facilities. This extensive multi-year expansion project will help us to meet this rising need and even greater demand in the future. Our 30-year track record has proven that investments like this are essential to sustain the growth and success of our enterprises and the entire region.”
